What it costs to keep a vaporizer running
The part that wears out is a small piece of ceramic. Whether anybody will sell you that piece by itself is the entire difference.
Every ceramic heater cup wears out. Six months to a year on average, under the right settings. That isn’t a defect and it isn’t a brand thing. It’s just what ceramic does when you heat it past 500 degrees a few thousand times.
So the real question was never which one lasts forever, because none of them do. The question is what you pay on the day it goes.

Both columns assume the same lifespan, which is the generous read for the sealed device, since it's the same ceramic doing the same job. Why the gap is that big
On our heaters the cup lifts out. You pull the old one, drop the new one in, lube the o-rings, and you’re running again in about a minute. The cup costs ten dollars because a cup is a small piece of ceramic, and that is what a small piece of ceramic costs.
On a sealed device that same ceramic is bonded inside a housing with the metal and the silicone and the contacts, and that whole assembly is the only thing offered. So a ten dollar failure turns into a seventy five dollar purchase. Nobody is gouging anybody. It’s just how the thing was built, and once it’s built that way there is no smaller piece left to sell you.

Where these came from
Back in early 2021 I was mailing V5 prototypes to anybody who emailed me and asked for one. No NDA, no launch date, no big reveal. I just wanted people to run them and tell me what was wrong with them. The second batch is on my channel from February 15th, and by May I was posting the beta dates out loud. Side and bottom heated ceramic, ten dollar cups, open to whoever wanted in.
That October the category caught up. Honestly I’m glad it did. It’s a better way to heat and more people should be doing it. The only thing I’d change is that you still can’t buy just the cup from anybody but me.
If you want to stop replacing chambers
The V5 rebuildable heater is where most people start, and the XL Deluxe Core if you want it all in one piece with the battery already in it. Either way the cup that wears out is ten dollars, and it will still be ten dollars in five years.
